3 Most Romantic Places in the World to Propose

Are you planning where and how to ask that important question?

There are many ways and romantic or memorable places to do it, and here are the top three:

  1. Relaxing in an outdoor café on the banks of Lake Garda with an Italian dish and large glass of Prosecco. The sun shining and reflecting on the deep blue water with waves lapping gently at the edge of the lake and pleasure boats chugging happily across the water, leaving curling waves in their wake. The Waiter delivering the ring to your Fiancée with a flourish of pure Italian style
  1. From the famous stone balcony at the house of Juliet on the night that she and Romeo declared their undying love for each other, in a small cobbled street in Verona. Your lady love can wait on the balcony while you dash down to the street and call the question up to her from below – just as Romeo did on the night they ran away together.
  1. In the vibrant Verona square of Piazza Brà, next to the magnificent Roman arena where the Verona Opera Festival takes place in summer. Then stroll along the famous shopping street Via Mazzini where the Italian designers: Salvatore Ferragamo, Valentino, Versace, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Laura Biagiotti, Roberto Cavalli, Brioni and Bottega Veneta, Diesel, Fendi, and Dolce & Gabbana, have shop windows decorated with unmistakable elegance, exquisite beauty, and unmatched creativity.

The best way to reward top employees is not with money – £300 may seem like a great reward, but it slips into the Bank Account and gets lost on bills, with no lasting impact on motivation, other than paying the Electricity Bill.

Business Expo held at Tigers’ stadium is a roaring succe

More than 600 people have attended an annual exhibition as part of Leicester Business Festival.

The Leicestershire Business Expo, which is in its 10th year and run by Hi2Events, attracted around 650 people to the Leicester Tigers stadium on Thursday.

A total of 106 businesses and organisations showcased at the event including Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Leicestershire-based solicitors EHL and the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce.

The event also staged several seminars by the Leicester Apprenticeship Hub and the LLEP, and two ask the expert sessions by businesses such as Newby Castleman and Haines Watts.

Elaine Vandelli, managing director of Hi2Events, said despite 550 people registering to attend, she saw many more arrive during the day.

She said: “The event went very well. This is our fourth year at Tigers and the exhibitors seem very happy to be here.
“There are quite a few businesses that come back each year, for example, EHL, Bray & Bray, FSB, and Chamber of Commerce

“I would say at least 40 per cent of people here have been coming here year on year.

“There are a couple of businesses here from outside of Leicestershire as well.”

EDC SUPPORT

David Eary, managing director of IT support company, EDC Support, in Lutterworth, said: “The event went really well. We had a really steady flow of people which is what we wanted to achieve.

“We’re members of the FSB and they offered us a stand which we decided to take as we’ve never showcased at an event like this before in Leicester.

“We thought we’d give it a go and we’re very happy that we did.

David Orton, sales representative for Stanair in Rugby
“I think events like these are great as we’re putting Leicester back on the map.

“They’re great for networking, getting exposure and we’re meeting lots of other businesses from different industries.”

He said: “We’re here as we do a lot of work with companies that are based in Leicester and I’m based all around the Midlands but I’m in Leicester quite a lot throughout the year.

“It’s a great opportunity to network with people and get to know other businesses in the area.”

Leicester’s Premier Business Expo Celebrates 10 Years

Leicester’s Premier Business Expo Celebrates 10 Years

The annual Leicestershire Business Expo held at the Leicester Tigers Rugby Ground every October is celebrating its tenth successful event this year.

Bookings are flooding in from businesses, not just in the City, but all across Leicestershire, who have been to the event as a visitor and decided to grab some of the action for themselves this year.

The Organiser of the event, Elaine Vandelli of Hi2 Events told us:

“I started 10 years ago because there was nothing for Leicester businesses to promote themselves to local people, without travelling to London or Birmingham. Now it is the longest running business exhibition in the whole of Leicestershire and it has been great to watch businesses grow and build new local clients.”

The Leicestershire Business Expo is now so well known in the City, that it is known as “LBE” to most businesses and represents a sparkling Showcase of the huge diversity of businesses across Leicestershire.

The Visitors and Guests list is geared towards local business owners, directors and decision makers.

Tigers building is well used to big crowds, so the 2 floors of inspiring exhibitors and the fantastic array of free seminars and workshops addressing business challenges, mean that LBE 2016 is a perfect opportunity.

The jam-packed, one-day event will fast-track the awareness of your business brand in a busy B2B environment, enable you to source new products, services and solutions, as well as network and chat with professionals and entrepreneurs all day, for free.

This year Hi” Events will be trialling a limited number of larger exhibition spaces in the downstairs exhibition hall for companies to have a dedicated demo area. With booking now flooding in, it’s vital to act quickly if you would like your business to be seen alongside more than 100 local businesses, who will all be hunting for new products and services.

Around 1,000 high profile visitors are expected to book a free visitors ticket, with many more arriving on spec, on the day.

The whole event is completely free to visitors, and includes free parking outside the Tigers Stadium. To book your exhibition space or to register to visit, please contact Elaine on:

Cut Recruitment Costs with Staff Incentives

The cost of Recruiting and training new staff when someone decides to leave, can be crippling for big companies with a large number of staff.

They can have anything up to 20% of their total staff numbers made up of replacing employees who decide to work somewhere else during any one year.

The current UK average for people resigning for a similar job in another company is 18% of the workforce, and this causes loss of productivity and many thousands of pounds needing to be spent from the bottom line to cover temporary staff or freelancers, recruitment and advertising costs and the expense of training the new recruits.

For Senior Managers

The costs can be enormous for recruiting senior professional staff and average between £8,000 and £12,000 per person in wasted expenditure, eating into the valuable profit margins of the company.

Incentive Schemes are the answer

gladiator arena verona

Many large companies have realised that offering interesting and exciting incentives to their staff is a great way of keeping them. It gives them recognition for a job well done and proves to your employees that you appreciate their hard work.

It also boots their morale and develops a culture of loyalty that actively reduces staff turnover, with a side effect of also increases their level of performance; improving sales or customer service for your clients and your products.

Malcolm Higgs, Professor of Organisation Behaviour and director of the School of Management at Southampton University,

Says: “Far too many companies work on the basis that money motivates. But money is not a motivator. If you give people more money you might get a quick lift in productivity but the effect of that dies off incredibly quickly. By and large, that is not what employees are there for.”

How To Motivate Your Staff…

Motivation is a very big subject, with rows of books about the psychological aspects of it; but it can all be summed up into one easy question:

Are people motivated by a PUSH or a PULL?

That means do they work harder when aiming towards something good, or when trying to avoid something bad. Clearly avoiding something bad (lack of bonus, redundancy, telling off,) will not result in you getting the most creative work from your employees, as this performance is reliant on the amount of their fear or dread. So let’s look at the PUSH, or ‘aiming towards something good’ option to see why and how this works:

Incentives motivate and inspire your staff

There is a huge difference between employees performing their expected and minimum duties adequately, and performing them brilliantly, on time, and creatively, so more and more companies are offering their employees, incentives and reward schemes to get the best from their workforce.

Create a BUZZ!

As a business owner, you need to find ways to sustain performance and launching a new incentive or reward scheme will instantly create a new BUZZ in the staff room, but choosing the right kind of reward is the key to making it work.

Giving extra money may be your first thought, but this increases tax bills and will just end up being spent in the Supermarket, and the reward will disappear into the daily humdrum of life.

So the reward needs to be something that employees would not ‘generally’ splash out on. Something more exciting than an Amazon voucher, and something that the winners will then talk about enthusiastically at the coffee machine, to motivate OTHERS to want to achieve it next month/quarter/year.

Ignite a Competitive passion

If you have 10 salespeople, why not offer a reward to the top three, or to all of them who achieve their sales targets for three months in a row? Or to the first 3 people to sell one of your brand new Widget machines?

The next thing to do is to set a budget for this reward. That will depend entirely on the size of your Company and the value of your products, and don’t forget that they are tax deductible for you as a business marketing expense.

Here is an example of what £300 will buy, to motivate your employees to want to achieve that ‘Employee of the month’ or ‘Top Sales’ position: with an unforgettable four-day break in the beautiful city of Verona. Covering a weekend, so involving two days’ holiday

Piazza_Braweb

Hi2Events have a fabulous four-day leisure break that takes the winners to Verona, Lake Garda, the Soave Wineries, and an authentic Italian Cookery Class.  It is a great way to inspire your staff and gives them plenty to talk about at the coffee machine afterwards. Have a look at what our last winners said about it…

“I cannot recommend this trip enough, it has really been an amazing experience and I have some amazing memories that will last a life time”.
Emily Johnstone, DBS Managed Offices

“The first view from the patio at San Mattia will stay with me forever”.
Paul Coughlan, PSC Fire Safety

“Fantastic scenery, fantastic food, fantastic hostess and plenty of Wine!”
Angela Priestly

“The trip offered a great mix of recreational activities together with down time for relaxing and charging batteries – obviously well thought out by the event planner”.
Carol Franklin, Cento.

“If you have never experienced the culture of Italy, this is the perfect tour to see Italy as its best!”
Tina Gayle, Whizzy Words

“The activities organised were excellent and pitched perfectly for adults wanting a mixture of fun yet relaxation. I would recommend the experience to anybody wanting a short fun break for business or pleasure”.
James Franklin, Cento.
